Guided Fly Fishing in Derbyshire

River Wye

Derbyshire’s river Wye is world famous for it’s quality fly fishing. Winding it’s way through scenic valleys of the Peak District National Park, an area of England historically frequented by famous anglers such as Izaak Walton & Charles Cotton, the river wye benefits from high water quality which is crystal clear, like a chalkstream with the character of an upland river. Fly hatches are abundant throughout the season, providing prolific dry fly fishing, plus the opportunity to nymph fish too.

The river is unique within the UK, being the only system with a population of wild rainbow trout. This is world class fly fishing, where you watch a wild rainbow or brown trout take your dry as it leaps into the air or subtley inhales your nymph. Exciting fly fishing indeed!

Experienced river anglers benefit from the guide’s river knowledge of what to fish when and where, plus all the tips and tricks to fool large educated trout.

Less experienced river fly fishers may prefer a tuition orientated day, we cover all aspects of river fly fishing.
