Fishing Reports

Late evening out on the river in Summer.

Fabulous summer conditions for enjoying the great outdoors saw many clients enjoying river fly fishing with us. Water temperatures on the main Peak District rivers remain ideal for trout fishing, especially when combined with a PM start and fishing until dark. During stable, warm weather the latter part of the day typically offers anglers tremendous sport with dry flies such as Caddis, BWO, terrestrials and more. Daytime fishing provide good nymph fishing, in addition to some dry fly opportunities, providing fun, informative fishing.

On the lakes trout fishing proved very tough due to water temperatures and we advised clients to rebook full days for Autumn. We did continue with skills based sessions focused on casting and half days where clients could try catching carp on a fly rod. These provide exciting fly fishing and an awesome fight!
