April 2015 has treated us to some wonderful fly fishing for trout! On the lakes and reservoirs a mixture of lures and nymphs, buzzers in particular, have accounted for many great catches and some superb individual specimens. Towards the month end we’ve experienced some good dry fly fishing opportunities too with emerging midge and olive patterns taking quality fish.River fishing is really coming into it’s own now. The nymph fishing is fantastic with dry fly becoming increasingly effective as hatches build.
It’s been a busy month here at Midlands Fly Fishing, our popular corporate events have been a huge success.
The reservoir fly fishing seminar was a great hit at the fabulous Carsington Water. Anglers who attended varied from first time reservoir fly fishers to the very experienced, everyone provided positive feedback, having learnt much to further their fly fishing.
If you missed out on this event, don’t miss out again, checkout our May Stillwater event here!
Our daily guide trips, fly fishing and casting lessons have been busy too, as many people look forward to the prospect of increasingly good trout fishing as spring progresses and Mayfly season approaches!
