Again we were blessed with exceptionally mild weather conditions. Some days were wet and windy with low light levels, triggering trout into heavy fry feeding. On these occasions a selection of tadpoles, minkies and muddlers in various colours and sizes produced well.
Other days were clear and bright, confining most fry feeding to early and late in the day. However, these days produced good nymph fishing, with buzzer and bloodworm combinations producing well. Such days made for excellent stalking conditions too, tiny lead bugs outscoring larger mobile flies on many occasions.
Looks like more of the same for early 2014.
Happy New Year!
