The excellent summer has provided us with good river trout fishing on the Derbyshire Wye, where dry fly has been our method of choice most of the time, supplemented by some nymph fishing. The water has and continues to remain very clear, enabling us to spot and cast to specific trout much of the time. Fabulous fun!
Stillwater trout fishing has been very quiet as you expect during August and particularly in the conditions experienced this year. We’ve continued to coach clients looking to develop skills for the months ahead, but chose to suspend full day lake lessons until mid September. Casting lessons and half days remain available until then.
With nights lengthening and temperatures cooling slightly, Autumn is here. We now have the final weeks of our river season to enjoy and continuous improvement of the lake fishing for the remainder of 2022 which seems to be going by faster than ever! So if you want to hit the river with us for trout this season and with fish like the one pictured prevalent at this time why wouldn’t you, you have until October 7th. Lake lessons are available daily all year.
We look forward to seeing you waterside.
