Fishing Report February 2020

Fishing Reports

As per recent fishing reports a small selection of nymphs and lures have been all you need this month. It’s far more crucial when, where and how you fish them. Early spring fishing is typically an extension of winter tactics on lakes, so we expect this quality fishing to continue through March!

Spring and a new river trout season are in sight now, so we’ve been keeping an eye on the Derbyshire Wye. It’s our first river venue to open on March 18th. While nymph fishing dominates during the first month, hatches occur most days, providing dry fly opportunities between late morning and mid afternoon typically. Shrimp and caddis patterns, plus a few beadhead PTN/HE nymphs are go to flies. For dries, carry parachute Adams, F fly and shuttlecocks.
