Late Autumn 2024 Fishing Report

Fishing Reports

sunset - Great time to be waterside!

We have been enjoying consistent fly fishing on the lakes for several weeks. This recent post on autumn & winter fly fishing and the associated video give you a flavour of the experience right now.

While our river season ended back in October, now is a great time to enjoy the lakes and use the time to ultimately benefit your 2025 river fishing. Lakes provide a great opportunity to improve your casting control. You typically make longer casts than when river fishing. Practice techniques at a much slower pace to make improvements stick, ready for the river. This does not mean lakes are just a practice ground. The fishing is fun and challenging, in a way that is different and refreshing from what you experience on a river.
