By mid September lakes were and have continued fishing really well. Dry fly, nymph and streamer techniques all enjoyed their day, dependant on conditions and this continues into October. The cooler days really helped bring fishing on quickly this autumn and we expect this good sport will continue for the remainder of the year. Along with many standard fly patterns, we’ve continued testing a few variants we tied last winter. Two are currently proving to be really productive as change patterns, something a little bit different (or that’s how we see it). Courses are full and we are servicing the varied requirements of fly fishers returning to the lakes with personalised lessons, as fishing improves and the river season comes to a close.

Talking of the rivers, we have just 3 days remaining as I type this. It’s been another good season despite low water conditions. So while catches were lower numbers wise, it provided an opportunity for anglers to really up their game. We worked with many people keen to do just that and their results spoke for themselves. Absolutely fantastic to see people progressing. We are already looking forward to season 2026!
