Clients have been landing some cracking rainbow trout at Watermark Fisheries in Gloucestershire during recent days. Great sport has come to both targeting margin cruisers and long casting. Top flies have been Steve’s new damsel nymph variant and buzzers. Check out top fish below!
The 2 Phil’s spent a day at Watermark fisheries in the Cotswolds improving their fly fishing skills. The pair landed 5 quality rainbows, the smallest at 3lbs, all fin perfect torpedo’s. Phil’s catch of 3 trout for 16lbs included the cracking 7lber pictured left.
Water is now holding a touch of colour from a spring algal bloom which should be clear soon. While this reduces our visibility into what has been really clear water, the plus side is trout don’t see us so easily either!
See some good fishery information in the current issue of Trout Fisherman magazine with Matt Hays and Mick Brown. See details of our fly fishing tuition at Watermark, plus learn how to sight fish for trout.
