Why You Should Weigh Your Fly Line. Yes, Really!!
If you match a rod rated as a five weight with a 5 weight line (that actually is a five weight line, more on that later) in theory it is balanced. If you then use that to make short casts with only two meters (around six feet) of fly line beyond the rod tip, you will be casting a very under loaded rod, making life difficult. SO it’s great to see the adoption really start to increase in recent years.
